The collection consists of immigration papers and other documents, as well as a child's red dress, an Israeli flag, and a prewar German prayer book documenting the donor's parents' and sister’s experiences in prewar Germany, surviving the Patria bombing, their detainment in Atlit (or Athlit) clearance camp, living in Tel Aviv, and their immigration to the US in 1946.

Comprised of materials such as immigration papers, family photographs, and correspondence documenting the donor's sister, Ava (b. 1940), and parents', Karl Kormes (b. 1918) and his first wife Martha (b.1922), experiences in prewar Germany, surviving the Patria bombing, their detainment in the Atlit (or Athlit) detainee camp, living in Tel Aviv, and their immigration to the US in 1946. Also included are Jewish Journal newspaper clippings.
