- Doris Kumar discusses her family life, education, participation in the Hitler Youth (Bund Deutscher Mädel) and work experience under Nazi rule living in a suburb of Berlin from 1933 to 1945. She recalls witnessing the destruction and looting of Jewish-owned shops in Spandau during Kristallnacht, the sudden disappearance of a beloved Jewish family doctor and Jewish classmates, as well as the harrowing experience of attending a concert in Berlin that was disrupted by Allied bombing.
