- Simon Bornstein (b. Samson Borsztejn), originally of Lódź, Poland, describes his prewar life and life in the Lódź ghetto; his deportation to Auschwitz in the fall of 1944; his transfer to the Friedland concentration camp, where he was forced make airplane propellers; his time in the Landsberg displaced persons camp; and his immigration to the United States in 1951.
