Silver plated table fork with a Reichsadler stamp acquired by Laszlo Meisels, 18, while recuperating in Hillersleben, Germany, after his liberation from the Farsleben train by US troops in April 1945. After Nazi Germany occupied Hungary in March 1944, Laszlo and his family were interned in Debrecen ghetto. In June 1944, they were deported as slave labor to a farm in the outskirts of Vienna, Austria. In December, they were transferred to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. In spring 1945, they were put on a transport to Theresienstadt. The train was liberated by American troops near Farsleben, Germany, in April. The war ended in May 7, 1945. They lived in Hillersleben displaced persons camp until repatriation to Hungary.

The identification card was issued to Laszlo Meisels in May 1945 by the Displaced Persons Center in Hillersleben, Germany. The card documents his imprisonment in Bergen-Belsen from December 1944 to April 1945 and his liberation from a transport near Farsleben.
