Caption: A satirical announcement mocking Baron M.A. von Rothschild.

This poster calls upon all "noble hearts" to come to the financial aid of the Baron who is characterized as having fallen upon hard times. The reference to Mayer Amschel Rothschild and the date of 1848 listed at the bottom are incongruous, since M.A. Rothschild died in 1812. The initials may have been reversed accidentally and could thus be attributed to Amschel Mayer Rothschild, son of the Baron. The poster ridicules the Rothschild's activities as philanthropists.
