Reichsfuehrer SS Heinrich Himmler examines a building plan with Max Faust (wearing the fedora) during an inspection tour of the Monowitz-Buna building site.

Faust, who was an IG Farben engineer, was the head of building operations at Monowitz-Buna.

Individuals pictured third and fourth from the left have been identified as SS-Obersturmbannfuehrer Rudolf Hoess (Lagerkommandant, KL-Auschwitz), and SS-Obergruppenfuehrer and General der Polizei Ernst Heinrich Schmauser (Hoeherer SS- and Polizeifuehrer Suedost).
