Hungarian soldiers prepare former Prime Minister Dome Sztojay for execution in the courtyard of the Academy of Music of Budapest.
The war crimes trial of former Prime Minister Dome Sztojay was the last undertaken by the People's Tribunal in Budapest. Sztojay was tried along with co-defendants Antal Kunder, Jeno Ratz, Lajos Remenyi-Schneller, and Lajos Szasz for sacrificing the interests of Hungary by collaborating with the Third Reich, as well as for his role in the destruction of Hungarian Jewry in 1944. The trial took place from March 14, 1946 to March 22, 1946 and ended with the conviction of all of the defendants, who were executed several days afterwards.
