Newly arrived prisoners, with shaven-heads, stand at attention in their civilian clothes during a roll call in the Buchenwald concentration camp.
Some still have their valises and other luggage with them. These prisoners were among the more than 10,000 German-Jews who were arrested during the Kristallnacht pogrom (November 9-10, 1938) and sent to Buchenwald. Another 20,000 German-Jews arrested at the same time were imprisoned in Dachau and Sachsenhausen.
