Hungarian civilians identify the corpses of Jews exhumed from a mass grave. The victims were killed in the Maros Street Hospital massacre.

The woman in the head scarf is Iren Kaufmann. She is identifying the remains of her husband Zsigmond Kauffmann, who was a veterinary surgeaon and was a patient at the Maros utca hospital. Standing beside her is her sister-in-law (Zsigmond's sister), Dr Iren Weisz. .
