    Biography
    Helga Melmed (born Helga Arndtheim) is the daughter of Georg (b. October 31, 1883) and Frieda (b. December 23m, 1896). Helga was born in Berlin on December 28, 1927. The family was deported to the Lodz ghetto where her parents died in 1942. Helga was sent to Auschwitz, Hamburg Labor Camp, and Bergen-Belsen. After liberation, she joined the children's transport to Sweden and eventually immigrated to the United States.
