German civilians dig graves for the bodies of 71 political prisoners, exhumed from a mass grave on Wenzelnberg near Solingen-Ohligs, in front of the city hall.

The victims, most of whom were taken from Luettringhausen prison, were shot and buried by the Gestapo following orders to eliminate all Reich enemies just before the end of the war.
