    Biography
    Marie Genevieve Parmentier was a ten year-old French girl living in Paris at the time of the German occupation in 1940. Her widowed mother sent her to safety with an elderly relative in Ariège in the South of France. She sooned joined her aunt, Isabelle Peloux, a military nurse, at the camp of Recebedou. There she attended primary school at nearby Portet-sur-Garonne, before returning to her family in the summer of 1941.
