Isabelle Peloux, the aunt of Marie Genevieve Parmentier, is at the right. The original inscription on the back reads: "A souvenir of your good care."

Marie Genevieve Parmentier was a ten year-old French girl living in Paris at the time of the German occupation in 1940. Her widowed mother sent her to safety with an old relative in Ariège in the South of France. She sooned joined her aunt, Isabelle Peloux, a military nurse, at the camp of Recebedou. While there she attended primary school at nearby Portet-sur-Garonne, before returning to her family in the summer of 1941.
