The yeshiva was headed by Rabbi Doctor Joseph Breuer.  After Kristallnacht, the yeshiva was closed down.  Rabbi Breuer moved to Fiume, Italy and from there to New York where he became rabbi of the mostly German Jewish congregation, Kehillat Jeshurun.
