Three Jewish nurses wearing yellow stars are about to begin the 25 mile bicycle ride from their homes in Boekelo to their place of work at the Jewish psychiatric hospital in Apeldoorn [Het Apeldoornse Bos]. Bicycles were their only permitted mode of transport.

The three nurses (from left to right) are Marcelle de Wolff, Gerta Sajet, and Renee Meijer. Pictured at the far left is Richard Meyer. In the background at the right (from right to left) are Joseph Meijer, Hennie Meijer, Zadok Zion, and Bep Meijer.
