Photograph | Photograph Number: 37987

Carl Roman (right) poses in uniform with the one other Jew who was living in hiding in the Compagnons de France Vichy youth camp in Agde.

The other youth, who went by the assumed name of Baner, had been in the Montintin children's home with Carl Roman. The two boys never spoke to one another while in the camp, but met outside on Sundays.
