Children from the Hebrew School work in the school's garden in preparation for immigration to Palestine.
Supervising them are three of their teachers: (right to left) a teacher from the shtetl of Belski, Mr. Okun, and Shaul Schneider (front row, right to left) Avigdor Katz, Moshe Kaplan, Elisha Koppelman, Sheinele Dwilanski; (back row, right to left) Hayya Shlanski, Rachel Koppelman, Leah Michalowski, (first name unknown) Zila, and a girl from the Narodowicz family.
Hayya immigrated to America; Leah Michalowski was one of the girls raped by "White Jacket," the Gestapo commander of Eisiskes; Rachel was killed by the Polish Home Army; the others were murdered by the Germans during the September 1941 mass shooting action in Eisiskes.
