Members of the Rak Ivrit (Only Hebrew) society founded by Leah Wilansky.

The white bow on their chests indicates that Hebrew, not Yiddish, is the member's daily language. In the third row, fifth from left, is Sarah Rubinstein, the Hebrew instructor, who was the first female teacher to teach boys as well as girls.

Shlomo Kiuchefski is sitting on the ground, fifth from right. The little girl in the second row, far right, is Esther Katz. Fourth row, standing to the right of Sarah Rubinstein, is Shaul Kaleko and his brother Simha; the boy directly behind Sarah is Moshe Sonenson. Behind him in the last last row is his brother Shalom, wearing a black outfit. A significant number of the people in the photo immigrated to Palestine or other various countries.
