Photograph | Photograph Number: 39262

A Saturday night party at the home of Dina Weidenberg.

(right to left) David Leib Levin; Miriam Kabacznik; her brother Shepske (in the back); Dina Weidenberg, Yehiel Blacharowicz; Kreinele Kanichowski; Dov Wolotzki; Frumele Abelov, also a successful shopkeeper; an unidentified visitor; and Sarah Lejbowicz, sister of photographer Rephael.

David-Leib survived the war in the forest, and Miriam and Shepske in hiding. Dov was liberated from Dachau. Kreinele was killed by members of the AK, including Pietka Barteszewicz, the caretaker of the Polish school where Kreinele once studied. All the others were killed by the Germans during the September 1941 mass shooting action in Eisiskes.
