    The founders and leaders of the Betar movement in Eisiskes pose for a farewell photo in honor of the departure of Shaul Berkowicz for Palestine and Faivl Glombocki for Argentina. 

Shaul Berkowicz (seated, right) Faivl Glombocki (seated, left).  Standing (right to left) Meir Shimon Politacki, Shepske Sonenson and Zvi Hirshke Schwartz.  

Meir Shimon was captured and presumably killed by the Germans while serving in the Polish army.  Shepske and Zvi Hirshke were murdered in the September 1941 massacre.  Shaul and Faivl reunited in Israel fifty-five years after they left Eisiskes.
