The plate is #42 in the series "Erblehre, Abstammungs, und Rassenkunde in bildlicher Darstellung" (Heredity , Pedigree, and Racial Studies in Pictorial Representation), by Alfred Vogel, and was published by the Verlag für nationale Literatur (Publisher for National Literature), Stuttgart.  These plates were used to indoctrinate school children with Nazi theories of "race science."

The German quotation by Dr. Grosz reads, "Was nicht den Anforderungen des Seins genugt, das zerbricht" (That which does not satisfy the demands of existence is crushed.).
