Norbert Hermann, the son of a Catholic mother and a baptized Jewish father, poses on a street in Prague during the German occupation.

Norbert Hermann served in the German army from 1939 to 1940, but was expelled after being classified as a Mischling. He was not, however, required to wear a Jewish badge.
