- Biography
- Sonia Rosenbach (born Sonia Dzienciolski) was the daughter of Szlomo and Michla Dzienciolski. She was born on November 15, 1935 in Nowogrodek where her father had a flour mill. She had a younger sister Bella (born 1939). The family were neighbors of the Bielskis, and several members of the two families were married to each other. When the Bielskis went into the forest, they were among the first to join them. Sonia lived in the forest between the ages of five and eight. After the war the family came to Foehrewald where a third daughter, Trudi Gittla was born in 1945. They then immigrated to the United States in 1955. In 1958 she married Lajziu (Larry) Rosenbach.
