    Biography
Dr. Hermann Meyer was a physician and professor of medicine. In the mid-thirties he was arrested and sent to Buchenwald. His son, who was an attorney, negotiated his release, and the family made plans to immigrate to the United States. Dr. Meyer, however, felt he could not begin his life all over and committed suicide.
