Pictured is Emilie Wurmser, nee Itzkowitz. Born in Rastatt on 2/17/1884, she was widowed in 1925. She managed to send her two daughters Paula and Erna (b. 10/25/1914) to the United States in 1936 and 1937, and she immigrated to New York City in 1938.
This is part of series of photographs taken of the Breisach Jewish community on their way to and from synagogue in 1937. In October 1940 the entire community was deported to the Gurs internment camp in southern France. - Photographer
