    Biography
    Victor van Hamme worked at the Brussels post office and used his position to distribute unauthorized documents for the Belgian resistance. One day in 1942 the Gestapo arrested him and sent him to Breendonck together with 38 other members of the resistance. He survived incarceration but weighed only 79 pounts at liberation.
