Group portrait of American prisoners soon after having been captured by German soldiers.
The original German caption reads, "The Americans who fell into German captivity after the successful fights in South Tunisia, look at Germans with a mix of attention and curiosity. A lot of Americans were only since a few days on the African land when the German agression surprised them."
This photograph was found by the donor, a former Captain in the U.S. Army, on the floor of the Propaganda Ministry in Berlin in August 1945.
