    A sign on a the hospital barrack at Buchenwald honors the victims of disease and maltreatment. It reads, "800 men were livng in this Hospital-barrack. 40 to 60 men died each day. We were fighting day and night against Typhus, open Tuberculase, Ruhr, Odeme, Cachexie, Hemiparesis, Paralyses and other charming maladies."
