Romanian Jews are forced to clear out the courtyard outside a military barracks in Sibiu.
Pictured (marked in red) is the donor, Alexandru Schlesinger, a tinsmith from Alba-lulia. Standing next to the guard (rear, left) is Adolf (Liti) Kohner, an upholsterer from Alba Iulia.
The original caption reads "Jews at forced labor in Battalion I Instruction and auto repairs from Sibiu-Romania. After 8-10 hours of work in the workshops -- depending on the needs of the front line -- Saturday afternoon and Sunday, when the workshops were not working, Jewish laborers numbering over 100 were free to rest. In the workshops , they were repairing trucks captured on the Eastern front. During this "free time" Jewish laborers were forced to do "administrative work" in the courtyard of the military unit under military guard."
