Group portait of two Macedonian families.

Photograph | Photograph Number: 05267

Group portait of two Macedonian families.

Pictured are the families of Isak Kolonomos and Teliko Tahula. In 1936, the two families built a house in Bitola, to be shared between them. This was an unusual arrangement at the time, as the Kolonomos family was Jewish and the Tahula family Christian.

Among those pictured (seated behind table, left to right) are an unidentified man, Teilko Tahula, brothers Menahem and Kalef Kolonomos, Isaak Kolonomos, and unidentified workers. Pictured in the back row (left to right) are Mrs. Tahula, Djamila Kolonomos (mother of Isaak), Antigone Tahula, Esterina Kolonomos (mother of Jamila), sisters Rachela and Bela Kolonomos, and unidentified workers.
