An SS officer who was beaten up by Poles and Russians leans against a brick wall.

The original caption reads, "Tanennberg, Germany.
Here is an S.S. leader, after some Poles & Russians had beaten him up. He is the type who tortured slave laborers & forced reluctant German soldiers to continue a lost fight. Turn the picture sideways and you will see some of the soldiers who were under his command. It looks as though he has a photograph conscience!"
