    Biography
    Mordecai E. Schwartz served as the Area Director for the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) from 1945 to 1948 after his service in the United States Army during World War II. Upon the deactivation of UNRRA in 1948, he worked as Area Director for the International Refugee Organization, supervising 28 displaced persons camps in Germany.
