Original caption reads: "The camp, 75 miles northeast of the Rhine River city of Cologne, holds some of the 316,930 Nazi troops captured in the Ruhr pocket by American forces. It was announced April 22 that a total of 2,260,156 prisoners had been taken by the Allies on the Western Front since "D-Day" (June 6, 1944)."
