Photograph | Photograph Number: 51105

German soldiers march through a street in Munich after their surrender and capture.

Original Caption: "Munich has fallen, Hitler's sacred city, the scene of the abortive putsch of 1923, the cradle of Nazism is now watching Europe's evil child being thrown finally intoo its grave. The men of general Patch's Seventh US Army marching through the city can see the beer cellar and the Draunhaus, so recently the supreme symbols of Hitler's black regime, now battered relics of a madman's dream of power."
