Living Show Evidence of German Brutality
A Russian in a displaced persons camp at Warendorf, Germany, shows the scar on his leg resulting from a Gestapo beating when he pushed a farmer's cows too roughly while milking the herd. He is one of the 4,000 Russians in the Warendorf camp, which now is operated by troops of the Ninth U.S. Army. This photograph was taken May 8, 1945.
