Original caption reads, "Dr. Kurt Von Burgsdorff, former Governor of Kracow, Poland, under the Nazi Regime, is having his handcuffs changed by Captain Binder as two Polish officers look on. Burgsdorff, with two other Ex-Nazi officials, were being held at Nurnberg, Germany as witnesses at the International Military Tribunal trials. Burgsdorff, along with the other two men in Nurnberg, were met by seven other defendants flown from Frankfurt by the AAF Airport to Furth, Nurnberg, making a total of ten men being turned over by the Americans to the Polish Government to be tried as war criminals." 

The photo is dated 25 May and is credited to photographer PFC Eddie Murphy of the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

    Biography
    Eddie Mills Murphy (the photographer) served as a Private First Class in the United States Army, 3264th Signal Photo Battalion. He was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany and was assigned as a photographer at The International Military Tribunal, also known as the Nuremberg War Trials, in 1945 and 1946.
