- Biography
- Nathan Rubinstein was the husband of the donor. He was the son of Moshe and Sura Rubinstein. Nathan was born in 1936 in Pulawy, Poland. Following the start of World War II, his family fled east. They were deported to Siberia where Nathan's younger brother Benny was born. After the end of the war, the family came to Berlin and lived in the Schlachtensee displaced persons camp prior to immigrating to the United States. Though Nathan and his parents survived, much of his extended family perished in the Holocaust.
