Troops of the 45th Division, Seventh U.S. Army, wave battle-worn American Flags from the dais of the Luitpold Arena in Nuremberg, Germany, after capture of the shrine city of the Nazi Party April 20, 1945. This is the very spot from which Hitler, Goering, Gobbels and Hiimmler harangued their massive Nazi audiences at party festivals in the defiant prewar days. After the U.S. forces had crushed the last flicker of enemy resistence in the city, masses of liberated foreign slave workers streamed into the huge stadium".
