Biography
Jacqueline Zoneliche is the daughter of Szmuel Zonendliche(later Zoneliche) and Jetta (Ida) Kielmanowicz (later Habelski, later Zonendliche). Szmuel Zonendlich was born on June 26, 1911 in Bedzin, Poland, and Jetta was born on January 18, 1907. She and her first husband Itzhak Habelski (b. 4/23/1903), a tailor, immigrated to Paris around 1931. In 1936 Jetta gave birth to a son, Simon. He survived the war in hiding in a convent. Jetta fled to the south of France during the war. She worked as a waitress in a small town near Cavaillon but was denounced and arrested. She was deported to Auschwitz on June 30, 1944 on Convoy #76. From Auschwitz she was transferred to Buchenwald and Bergen-Belsen. Jetta's first husband Izhak Habelski was deported to Auschwitz on May 25, 1942 on Convoy #4. He did not survive the war. After liberation Jetta returned to France and found her son Simon who at first did not recognize her.
Szmuel Zonendlich had married to Nacha Bilosewska (b. 11/23/08) who he knew from Bedzin. Before the war, they also lived in Paris and had two children. Their daughter Lucie was born on March 30,1932, and their son Joseph was born on May 25, 1937. When war was declared in 1939, Szmuel Zonendlich volunteered and was enlisted in the Foreign Legion. In March 1941 he was rounded up with other foreigners in what was known as "la Rafle du billet vert" requesting non-French Jews to report to the local commissariat from there he was sent to Pithiviers and then was deported to Auschwitz on July 17, 1942 on Convoy #6. Nacha and the two children remained in Paris but were rounded up during the vel d'Hiv round-up of mid-July 1942. Soon afterwards mothers were separated from their children. Nacha was sent to Auschwitz on August 7, 1942 on Convoy #16. Lucie and Joseph were deported to Auschwitz on August 21, 1942 on Convoy 22. Nacha, Lucie and Joseph all perished in Auschwitz.
Having lost their first spouses, Szmuel and Ida married after the war. Ida went to find Their daughter Jacqueline was born in 1947.
