Rabbi Moritz David, the rabbi of Bochum, sits at a table underneath his portrait.

David Moritz was born in 1875 in Gimbsheim in Worms and studied in Erlangen. In 1901 he was appointed as the first rabbi of the Jewish community of Bochum. After serving briefly as rabbi in Dortmund, he immigrated to England in 1938 with the help of Leo Baeck.
