    Event History
Tal Shachar was a new immigrant agricultural community in Israel founded in 1948 in honor of Henry Morgenthau Jr. The meaning of its name, morning dew, is a direct translation of the name Morgenthau. The first residents were immigrants from Greece and Turkey. This photograph is from a presentation album given to Henry Morgenthau when he visited the community two years after its founding.
