    Chaplain Samuel Blinder examines one of the Torah scrolls stolen by the Einsatzstab Rosenberg and stored in the basement of the Institut fuer Juedische Erforschung [Institute for Research into the Jewish Question] in Frankfurt am Main.

The Einsatzstab Rosenberg, established by Reichsleiter Alfred Rosenberg in 1941, travelled to newly occupied countries and confiscated materials from libraries, archives, and private homes.  In this manner, the Institut fuer Juedische Erforschung quickly amassed a library of over 40,000 books.
