Mordechai Chaim Rumkowski, head of the Lodz ghetto Jewish council, and Leon Rosenblat, head of the Jewish police, review a group of Jewish youth during an official visit to the summer camp in the Marysin quarter of the Lodz ghetto.
Among the children pictured is Jakob Budkowski. He was the son of Majer Szymon Budkowski and Szajna Zlata Lesz and was born May 13, 1927 in Lodz. He had three younger brothers; of his family, only Jakob survived.
