An emaciated survivor sits by a portable shower set up by the 30th U.S. Army Field Hospital two days after liberation.

He had been in the hospital barracks 2 (for Jews) in Ebensee, a sub-camp of Mauthausen, which was liberated by a unit of the 3rd Cavalry Recon. Sqd., U.S. Third Army, on 6 May 1945.
