    Event History
The Hochmei Lublin yeshiva set a new standard for the building of talmudic academies in eastern Europe. Its founder, Rabbi Yehuda Meir Shapira, placed new emphasis on spacious living and dining quarters, insisted on larger lecture halls, and set his school in attractive surroundings. He also equipped the yeshiva with a good library. In addition, Shapira set rigorous academic standards for the selection of its students.
