Under the direction of American soldiers, German civilians bury the bodies of 71 political prisoners, exhumed from a mass grave near Solingen-Ohligs, in new graves in front of the city hall.
The victims, most of whom were taken from Luettringhausen prison, were shot and buried by the Gestapo following orders to eliminate all Reich enemies just before the end of the war.
