- The papers consist of a pamphlet issued by the United States Office of War Information entitled "Tale of a City" about the occupation of Warsaw, Poland, by Nazi Germany as well as birth, baptismal, and marriage certificates issued by Catholic churches in Austria and Germany and used by the donor's family to prove their Aryan ancestry.

- The pamphlet was acquired by Kurt Grübler by an acquaintance. The certificates were left in the Grübler family home in Vienna, Austria, during the Holocaust and retrieved from the same home by Kurt Grübler ca. 1976 to 1981. Kurt Grübler donated the collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1996.

Contains a German passport ("Deutsches Reich Reisepass") issued to Mina Loeffler (mother-in-law of donor's cousin), March 1941, Vienna, Austria. Issued by Chief of Police, Vienna, Germany (Austria); letter "J" stamped in red ink; middle name "Sara" added; contains official stamps allowing travel through Spain and Portugal; contains immigration visa for the United States dated May 19, 1941.

The envelope was sent by a member of the Jewish refugee community in Shanghai, China, to Otto Loeffler "husband of donor's cousin" in New York.
Kurt Grubler papers
Document
Consists of seven postcards sent from Georg Heiss to the Hiebner family (donor's mother's relatives) in Vienna, Austria; the title page from a Shavuot Mahzor published in Vienna; an invoice for materials mailed from the United States to Austria to the Hiebner family; and a menu for a farewell dinner on board the SS Gerolstein.
