Josette J. Laznowski, born in 1940 in Paris, France, discusses her family; her sister who was born in 1937; her father, who was sent to Morocco when the war started; her speculation that her father was detained when he returned to France; her mother leaving her and her sister in a house in Dreux, near Chartres, with a woman who was an alcoholic; living on the second floor of a building with other children, and the first floor of the building, which had a place to castrate pigs; going to an orphanage with her sister until the end of the war; her parents surviving Auschwitz; her father joining them before her mother, who was taken to Sweden to recover; the birth of her brother in 1948; her father’s death in 1951; her mother’s sister in Argentina; immigrating with her mother and sister to Argentina; and getting married and having two children.

Lucia Fink, born on August 27, 1929 in Lwow, Poland (now Lviv, Ukraine), discusses her four brothers, who were taken to camps and did not survive the war; going to Warsaw, Poland, using fake documents that identified her as Christian; and two of the fake names that she used: Irene Zawiska and Irene Gutner Rios.
