Laznowski, born in 1940 in Paris, France, discusses her family; her sister who was born in 1937; her father, who was sent to Morocco when the war started; her speculation that her father was detained when he returned to France; her mother leaving her and her sister in a house in Dreux, near Chartres, with a woman who was an alcoholic; living on the second floor of a building with other children, and the first floor of the building, which had a place to castrate pigs; going to an orphanage with her sister until the end of the war; her parents surviving Auschwitz; her father joining them before her mother, who was taken to Sweden to recover; the birth of her brother in 1948; her father’s death in 1951; her mother’s sister in Argentina; immigrating with her mother and sister to Argentina; and getting married and having two children.
