The collection consists of a personal account of the imprisonment of Herbert Leopold Strauss (1900-1980) at Buchenwald, a photograph of Herbert Leopold Strauss, and a Jüdischer Rechtsanwalt; Deutsche, geht zur deutschen Rechtsanwälten placard. The placard was originally posted in front of Strauss's legal practice in Leipzig to dissuade Germans from patronizing the business. Strauss's legal partner, a non-Jew, objected to the posting of the sign and it was removed and saved by the Strauss family. The collection also includes family photographs and Strauss's WWI medal.
